This innovative solution consists of a special media that foams when heat is applied, structure ink that controls the foaming, and an inkjet printer that can print beautiful full color. After printing with the printer, when the media is heated with a built-in heater, the areas where the structure ink is not applied foam up to a height of 2 mm, creating unevenness.
Representing unevenness using DIMENSE
The combination of rich full-color printing produced by the newly developed high-precision print head and three-dimensional textures gives depth to the work, creating one-of-a-kind graphics with artistic presence. Moreover, full-color embossed expressions can be produced in quantities as needed, greatly expanding the possibilities of interior decoration, which often involves the use of ready-made products with uniform designs and inventory risks.
Furthermore, after applying only the texture to the media, you can paint it yourself using commercially available paints to create unique and heavy-looking graphics that are a little different from digital printing. We also have supplies available that include the paints, brushes, and other tools necessary for painting, so you can easily try it out.
We have a wide range of dedicated media, including matte, suede, silver, gold, pearl, and chameleon. We also offer media with high abrasion resistance, media that meets the US Type II standard that stipulates the performance of wallpaper and other construction materials, and tension fabrics and roll-up banners for indoor signs and displays. You can choose the best media for your purpose.
The DIMENSE DA-640 is also environmentally friendly. The dedicated media is PVC-free. In addition, the CMYK ink is a highly safe resin type, and the structure ink is butyl glycol-free. It also complies with various safety standards such as AgBB, A+, UL, and GREENGUARD Gold certification, so you can use it with confidence in a wide range of situations.
Furthermore, ease of use has been thoroughly pursued. Data creation can be done using commercially available software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but the dedicated software “Roland DG Connect Designer DIMENSE Module” is also available, which allows for simple design creation, texture data application, and printer output simulation. In addition, the output RIP software “VersaWorks 7” for Windows and Mac is included as standard, which allows detailed printing conditions to be easily set and allows anyone to produce high-quality output, so even first-time users can get started right away.
